RAW WORDS is a place where writers, or emerging writers, will create work that is vital, ripe and engaging, a place they will unearth their true, authentic voice, to tell a story borne of new places and perspectives, and to embark on the beginnings of a publishable piece.
RAW WORDS will teach writers the importance of gritty details, substance born of evidence, and the ability to inspire, intrigue and compel a reader, through a piece that is of worth, not only to ourselves, but the audience it speaks to. Remember: all good writing comes from a place we cannot name, but is our own. And it is through writing, we begin to better understand this place, and ultimately, ourselves.
RAW WORDS will offer workshops, prompts and exercises, readings and editing sessions, all designed to help writers best shape their words and their work, to reveal a more deeply felt truth, a more deeply felt story.

She lives always by the water, and too, looks always for that inspired place, moment or story.
RAW WORDS is a space designed to ignite a writer's passion, allowing them to explore their edges, and the shadow corners of their ideas--those scribbled on napkins, tucked into the far reaches of a fleeting dream, buried in long-ago journals, or lodged in sporadic attempts at an essay, a memory captured, but never fully realized. This space will offer writers a community of like-others, where ideas and discussions will fuel and inspire each other's work. Our workshops are designed not only to push, shape and hone your writing, but ask writers to become peer-editors, in this way, writers are accountable not only to their own writing, but to each other's as well. Editing and revisingare the two most important tools in writing. As such, all workshops require dedication to the craft, yourself as an artist/writer, and to each other.
